Mother Nature has once again graced us with a beautifully decorated landscape using the most vibrant of colors! If you haven't made plans for your fall get-away weekend, we recommend you do it soon!
Fall brings even more fun and fabulous finds to Secret Sisters as the consignments arrive! The fall jackets, blazers, sweaters and fleece are ready to keep everyone warm on those cool nights. Dress pants, skirts and the ever popular jeans racks are all filling up rather quickly too! Need a pair of jeans for walking in the woods and outside work? We have them. Want a really cute stylish pair of Miss Me (or other brand name) jeans? We have those too! From the work clothes to the just for fun clothes - we carry the most fashionable of both ... and of course, everything in between.
Fall means many other wonderful things to us too. One of which are the events!
We participated in the 2011 Relay for Life; walking to honor and remember those who have had to fight cancer. Our team and store raised over $3700 which brought our team to a "Silver" status. This event holds a special place in our hearts as all three of our had Mothers dealt with cancer in their lives. We were proud of our very own Barbara Omerza and Mary Mitling who both participated in the Survivors Walk. We had a great team this year and have already started fundraising for the next Relay for Life in 2013!
Of course we always love Ely's annual Harvest Moon Festival which brings many wonderful people to town to explore the finds at the park and our store! And with it is the Harvest Moon Trezona Trail Run/Walk. If you missed these events this year - watch our calendar for next year! Food, music, crafts in the park, beautiful weather, and Secret Sisters Boutique - need we say more - of course you'll want to be here!
With Fall's arrival we find some customers looking for their next Halloween costume! Our ever creative fashion consultants are more than happy to help you come up with something fun, funky or scary!
Once Halloween is past us it seems Thanksgiving is right around the corner. And yes - once again we'll be open Thanksgiving night for Ely's Annual night of shopping! You'll find us here at 5:00 - a full hour before the other stores in town open - so you can get your Secret Sisters Boutique fix before moving on uptown! It's always a night of great friendship, yummy treats and fabulous finds. Our location affords us the greatest view of Hwy 169 - we see lines of cars with headlights on - all driving into town for the evening of shopping. Kind of reminds us of "if you build it - they will come".
And then, oh my goodness - dare I say Christmas is next!?! Whether we're ready or not - it's right around the corner. So whether you're already listening to Christmas Music, like our friend Heather at her new store Crimson Tate::Modern Quilter in Indianapolis (she makes our great Harriet Headbands), or if you're holding on to those last moments of summer desperately trying not to think of Christmas ... we have presents here for you when you're ready!
But we're jumping ahead of ourselves. We may have started our Christmas shopping, but let's not forget to sit back and enjoy what we have right now - this amazingly beautiful fall weather! Take a moment to breathe in the crisp air, walk in the woods and hear the crunch under your feet, and listen to the quiet ... ahhhhh, now that's better.
